The one-day workshop will focus on Applied Anthropology in Native Title and Cultural Heritage professional practices.

Key issues to be discussed include:

  • ‘Right people for country’: The role of anthropological knowledge in native title and cultural heritage matters.

  • Cultural heritage and major projects: Strategies for reaching agreements, managing expectations, and improving outcomes.

  • Navigating the availability of anthropological expertise: Identifying who possesses it, who seeks it, who needs it, and who ultimately receives it.

  • Debating anthropology: Exploring the impacts and future outcomes of the field.
